SHINE SONG STORY:
My artistic and personal mission right now is all about SOUL SHINE. When I heard about the wonderful "Reaching for the Stars" art piece for my son's class I knew that I had to get involved! I wanted to do my best to express the precious, precocious, unfettered wonder and joy of being a kindergartner, in song.
Meeting in small groups, I asked Mrs. Whitaker's students: "What makes you shine?" The delightful responses included: Finding treasures, my braid, mother nature, whistling, when my tooth falls out, laughing and of course, Chuck E Cheese.
Using their words and spirits as my muse, I went to my studio and wrote "Shine Song" then brought it home to my sweetie, (guitarist - songwriter- producer) Chance Hayden, to bring it to life. After recording a few tracks at home we went into the classroom to record the kids singing their hearts out on the chorus. It was a blast! They did a great job learning the melody and really loved listening back to themselves :)
After adding his oh so tasty guitar to the mix, Maestro Hayden enlisted our friends, bassist JP Downer and drummer Brent Follis (Pink Martini) to lend their extraordinary talents to the project and behold - a full blown song is born!
We hope you enjoy it and that it makes you shine bright with a Bridlemile smile!
